Samsung S850 vs S1050? Which is better and why? 10 POINTS TO THE BEST ANSWER!?
Things im considering:
S1050__________S850
10MP___________8MP
1/1.8″ CCD_______1/1.8″ CCD
3″ LCD__________2.5″ LCD
Now, is the slightly larger screen worth the extra noise of having 2 more MP crammed into the same 1/1.8″ CCD?
Is the noise between the two significant enough for me to opt for the S850 over the S1050…or is the difference only noticable on paper (as opposed to on images)?
Similarly, is the difference between 8MP and 10MP even noticable on prints 8 x 10 and smaller??
What about lag time and such, anything to consider there when it comes to S850 vs S1050?
*If you are going to suggest that I get a completely different camera other than one of these two, note that im looking for:
-Full manual control
-1/1.8″ CCD
- 6-10 MP
-Little lag time
- SDHC compatible (4GB)
-Good macro
-Better than 3x optical zoom
-Ultracompact
-Don’t like silver color, but I could deal with it…
- $200 or less (somewhat flexible)
From what I’ve seen, the price difference is between $50 and $100. The difference is not noticeable on prints 8 x 10 and smaller, because when you reach over 8 MP for that print size, you’re just introducing more noise into the image
A larger viewfinder on ANY camera is usually doesn’t by itself make a compelling case to spend an extra $100
The reviews I’ve read mention no differences in lag time between the S850 and S1050
STICK WITH THE S850, unless you’re making 11 x 14 prints or larger.
